Reflected Innocence Fine Art Eco Photography of Children

GREAT NEWS!  We have just become approved by Co-op America!

We are now a part of 2008’s progressive sustainable business leaders!

What is eco photography?

Eco photography differs in the materials used, the process, and the suppliers and products surrounding the photography.

Each finished piece, matted and framed, is made entirely of recycled or renewable materials.

The process is done in our Co-op America approved office environment.  All of our business is done using recycled paper, recycled envelopes and there is no waste as all is recycled again or used as heat fuel. The office itself is green as it is a restored historic building heated by wood in the winter and cooled by the trees in summer.  We use carbon-neutral shipping practices and our shoppe online is powered with wind power. Using recycled products supports reusing our resources, the sustainable market and its research efforts. We push the envelope to use, show, and offer sustainable materials to showcase my photography of children and support sustainability for their future.

The Materials

Our materials support sustainable ideals and are an example of how sustainable products can rival mainstream use.  The frames we offer are made entirely of reclaimed wood.  Each is a work of art as every piece is handmade by two fellow eco artisans.  Reclaimed wood is wood that is taken from its original purpose and can be used for an entirely different purpose. Using reclaimed wood reduces the demand for virgin wood, slows deforestation and allows further time for regrowth.

Our matting is made of renewable cotton or recycled paper.   All matting is professional grade quality and sustainable in its material content.

We have changed our paper for the better!  In the beginning we used natural stone paper.  There are many controversies on whether stone paper is infact renewable or green at all.  In one aspect, it may be recycled as a remant of another product made into the stone paper.  In another, stone, an un-renewable resource, in essence is worse than using virgin wood that is renewable. There have been many questions concerning the validity of stone paper being sustainable and the paper company does not specify where the stone used is from.  To not have any question behind our materials, or their sustainability, we now use the services of a professional lab whose paper, by default is renewable.  Any further information on this topic is welcomed!

A true Reflected Innocence exclusive!

We exclusively offer Eco Portrait Totes!  They are reuseable totes for the market or bookstore and are made from 100% organic cotton.  You can choose which image from your session to have on your cotton tote!  It is the most beautiful reuseable tote you will own!  Promote limiting plastic bag use with a beautiful tote!

Positive Globalization

Reflected Innocence also supports globalization.  We support the fair trade market and give to a greater cause beyond where we live.  We offer general fair trade information, as well as, fair trade toy market information from a friend who is directly involved in fair trade operations in Nepal, Peru and Egypt.

Our pictures bring a smile to another child as a percentage of our portrait profit benefits children all over the world through the wonderful organization, “Giving Children Hope.”

My work is meant to awe parents, make children laugh and raise sustainability awareness for a better future for the very subjects of this photography.
